Misplaced jobs and random interviews

Psst... Matt this post is by: Angie at 8:30pm on 08/17/2006.

This week I am popular. I uploaded my resume to monster.com after I tried for another position and didn’t get it. I have been on a whirlwind adventure the last two days driving all over the metroplex! Two staffing agencies called me and wanted me to come out for “interview”. What they really meant was, come in, register with us and MAYBE we will find you a job that not only is close to where you live and not 18 miles from your house and that is suited for your qualifications (no I do not know how to do payroll).
Today I made arrangements to see a staffing company because they called me yesterday and said they wanted me to go out on an interview with one of their new clients. I go, fill out some paper work and then I discover that no, I would not be going on an interview today because the staffing agent had to go pick up her son at half day Kindergarten! Hello?! I got up early, showered, dressed and made myself all pretty to go out there. I asked my husband to please watch our son so I could possibly get a job. Needless to say I was irritated. I told them I was available to go out on an interview until 3PM because I had a doctors appt. and they could call me and I would drop what I was doing to go. No such luck. I ended up calling Debbi and having lunch with her and we snuck in a little bit of window shopping, so not all was lost. I did find a cute new shirt for only 8.99! 8.99 people! I am the queen of bargan shopping!

Off to the dermatologist for a follow-up. After some debate, we (the doc and me) decide to take a byopsy of a suspicious flesh colored custy bump on my right shoulder. I have a history of malignant melanoma so I want to be on the safe side and check it out before it becomes something like this. We also decided to just remove a couple more odd spots that have been there for a while, but seem to be changing slowly.

So, there ya go. I am popular. Popular with staffing agencies, squamous cell carcinomas, and phantom interviewers. Ahhh, life is good.
